Anything less than the final is failure for France - Sagna

2016-07-01 22:09:00 from:SNTV

Bacary Sagna spoke on Friday about France's upcoming quarter-final match against Iceland.

SOUNDBITE (French) Bacary Sagna, defender (about Iceland):

"For a lot of people it's the surprise of the Euros. It's the Leicester of this Euros and they deserve to be here. I think… they showed in the group they could fight big teams, they won against the Netherlands, they won once against the Czech Republic in qualifying. It's a team of quality. We don't have to underestimate them, but I think we have to do what we should do to combat this. We have to do what we can do to impose on them. We are at home and we need to show them."

SOUNDBITE (French) Bacary Sagna, defender (about aiming for the final):

"Not at all. We want to go to the end. We have objectives. To stop at the quarter-finals would be a failure for me. To go to the semi-final and lose, personally it would be a failure as well. For me we have the capacity to go until the end so my aim is the final."

SOUNDBITE (French) Bacary Sagna, defender (about not thinking about defeat):

"Honestly I don't think of defeat today, because I don't see me on my holidays for now. I don't see me going until the end of this competition. Because I don't see me disappointing French people, so I don't think about defeat. Now as I said, we are going to prepare for the match as well as possible without underestimating them, but we trust in our qualities too."
