Iceland coaches Lars Lagerback and Heimir Hallgrimsson on Wednesday (29th June) reflected on their side's victory against England and looked ahead to their Euro 2016 quarter-final against France on Sunday (3rd July

"The pressure was always so much more on England. This was a game for them to lose. I think that has a big, big effect. They kind of mocked us a bit before the game. But this was a game for us that we almost couldn't lose. We've already won our supporters over with good performances. Only a good performance in that game would have left us as winners and the players as winners so when you can go into a game like that you have shown what you can do, you can go relax, you can show your best. And against France that's exactly the same, we can go relax, we can show the best we can do. We don't have the pressure of the world that we need to win the game. Of course we're going for the win. But we don't need to win the game, the world is not going crazy if we don't win (against) France so that's a big benefit to us. And that was a big pressure on the English you can see that, we see these players play day in and day out and they normally perform better than they did against us. But like Lars said it's maybe something was because of us and something was mentally not right in their mind."

"I mean this is a very difficult question to answer in football. Why is one team performing and the other not, normally it's a combination that one team is really good and the other team is maybe not that good. But what is the biggest part we can discuss forever. But I mean we've shown in the matches I think that we have a really, really good organization, we are very difficult to break down. So if that is a thing that's saying that England played badly I don't think so. I think the players with our team should deserve a lot of credit for the way they are handling the games. But I don't care, I mean I know what our analysis from the game, and we know what we did well and we know what we can improve."
