Mertens: 'Wales difficult to break down'

2016-06-30 06:26:00 from:SNTV

Mertens and Lukaku discuss quarter-final match to be played against Wales on Friday (1st July)

SOUNDBITE: (English) Dries Martens, Belgium midfielder

"Like I told already, it's a very difficult game. They have a good squad, they have a good defence, they give you the impression that you can play against them and have possession, but it's difficult to score against them. And then in front they have a lot of qualities to finish the game, so we know it's a very difficult game."

Q: Dries they took four points from you in the qualifying?

"Yeah it's better they took it there, than they take it here. So let's hope we have learned from that."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Jordan Lukaku, Belgium defender (Q: There is a lot of pressure on you, how are you feeling as a team?)

"The only pressure that we got is from our own country. The supporters they were not really happy with the way that we play, because it was not convincing or beautiful football. But our last game we really demonstrated that offensively we are very strong, we scored four goals, so everybody was happy. And I think that every squad noticed how much potential we have, so maybe that's why all of a sudden we are favourites, but I think that there are other countries that have more experience like Italy, or Germany, or France, because the tournament is in their own country so we'll see what will happen"
