Poland prepare for Portugal

Poland trained on Wednesday (29th June) on the eve of their Euro 2016 quarter-final against Portugal in Marseille.

Poland will be looking to continue making history when they take on Portugal in the quarter-finals of Euro 2016 on Thursday.

They arrived at the tournament having never won a match in the European Championship finals before, but made it through the group stage with victories against Northern Ireland and Ukraine, and added a goalless draw with Germany.

It took penalties to see off Switzerland in the round of 16 after the match finished 1-1 after extra time.

With Portugal up next, it'll be all about trying to stop a certain Cristiano Ronaldo a fact that forward Arkadiusz Milik knows only too well.

SOUNDBITE: (Polish) Arkadiusz Milik, Poland forward:

"Cristiano Ronaldo is a world-class player. We must take inspiration from him to progress. There is not only the talent, he works hard. He is an excellent example. That will be very special for me to play against him in a match at the Euros tomorrow. But most important is not to see Cristiano Ronaldo or the Portugal team, we must be focused on our game."

If they can beat Portugal, a semi-final against either Wales or Belgium awaits.
