The Spanish national team flew back to Madrid on Tuesday (28th June) after their elimination from Euro 2016.

Spain made their way home on Tuesday following Monday's 2-0 defeat to Italy.

1"La Roja" were defeated at Paris's Saint Denis stadium during the round of 16 knockout stage.

Spanish paper Marca referred to the nation's exit from the tournament as 'The End', and it could well spell the end for Vicente del Bosque.

The 65-year-old's contract is now up after the most successful managerial stint in Spain's history.

Del Bosque took over from Luis Aragones following Euro 2008 triumph, leading Spain to the 2010 World Cup and then the 2012 Euro title - beating Italy 4-0 in the final.

The 2-0 defeat in Paris was Spain's first defeat in six games to the Italians, dating back to August 2011.

Spain have now lost four of their last seven games at major tournaments - prior to this they'd gone 12 games unbeaten.

Italy will now face Germany in the quarter-finals in Bordeaux on July the 2nd.

As for Spain - they return home, with a period of rebuilding ahead.
