'Extraordinary might not be enough against Germany' - Conte

2016-06-29 01:00:00 from:SNTV

Italy coach Antonio Conte spoke on Monday after his side knocked out Spain 2-0 to reach the quarter-finals of the European Championship.

SOUNDBITE: (Italian) Antonio Conte, Italy coach
"We are coming into this after a 4-1 defeat in March in Germany, we will play against the best team in the European Championships bar none, this was a feat today but we will need a titanic effort against Germany in every perspective. We need to recover well, prepare well. Thiago Motta is suspended and that will penalize us as well as (Danielle) De Rossi has hurt his hip, we have lost others on the way, this is very much a lot of hurdles in our path and we know when the going gets tough we tend to respond. I will savour this victory today and start to think about Germany tomorrow, as I said Germany are a cut above the rest, I have no problem saying that, so we will need to recover our levels and attack with the same intentions, the same desire and determination because we may need something absolutely extraordinary as extraordinary may not be enough."
