Fans celebrate on the street's of Reykjavik after their teams historic 2-1 victory over Austria at Euro 2016 on Wednesday (22nd June).

Iceland, the smallest nation at the European Championships, delivered the feel-good story of the tournament by beating Austria 2-1 on Wednesday to qualify for the knockout stages of the tournament.

Fans unable to make the journey to watch this historic moment came together on the streets of Reykjavik to hold their own Euro 2016 party- and there is no doubt that it went on long in to the night.

The man who made their dream a reality was Arnor Ingvi Traustason, who with the very final touch of the game, scored the winner via a swift break away to send Iceland through to the knock out stages at their first major tournament.

There were jubilent scenes inside the stadium, and that mood was matched in Reykjavik

The fans will no doubt join together again on Monday to watch their side play England in the last 16.

Their biggest test in football to date. Will the fairy tale continue?
