Reaction after Croatia beat Spain 2-1 on Tuesday (21st June) to finish top of Euro 2016 Group D.

SOUNDBITE (Croatian) Ante Cacic, Croatia head coach (on avoiding Italy)

"I am aware winning against Spain is a huge achievement. It's a huge success and a big result. Now we can be really self-confident. Our players can tell everyone how strong we are. We cannot think which way is better, or to play against favourites or not so strong teams. The draw is important but on the other hand you have to win every single match. The next match between Spain and Italy can only tell you that in the last eight teams there will be no Spain or Italy. Maybe that means we have an easier path but we just have to win every match and go step by step. I said that after the first two matches."

SOUNDBITE (Spanish) Vicente del Bosque, Spain head coach (on playing against Italy)

"I think we have time to analyse what that game against Italy means. It wasn't the path that we wanted to take but that's football. It was a game that it looked like we controlled. Football brought us to this situation and we will try to recuperate as well as possible from this setback and be in the best possible situation on Monday. They (Italy) are playing well and we were playing well until today. Even today we didn't play badly but that's the result. We need to prepare to play against Italy."
