Portugal prepare for Hungary match

2016-06-21 23:14:00 from:SNTV

Portugal trained at their team base in Marcoussis on Tuesday (21st June) ahead of their final group game of Euro 2016 against Hungary.

Draws against Iceland and Austria were not the start that Portugal were hoping for as they kicked off their Euro 2016 campaign.

With just one goal and two points from their two opening games, the underperforming Portuguese still have it all to do in Group F.

Now under huge pressure to deliver when they face group leaders Hungary in their final group game in Lyon, Portugal were put through their paces in training by coach Fernando Santos

With fears over match pitches cutting up, Portugal were allowed to hold their 'Matchday-1' training session at their base in Marcoussis instead of in Lyon.

Hungary - the only team in the group to have won a match so far - will be tough opponents, and Santos has told his players to prepare for a "final" in the encounter in Lyon.

Cristiano Ronaldo will be hoping for a change of fortune having missed an easy chance late on in the 1-1 draw with Iceland before hitting the post from the penalty spot in the stalemate with Austria.

Portugal need a win to be sure of reaching the last 16 while a draw would leave them depending on the result of the Iceland-Austria game which takes place at the same time.

The Hungarians top Group F with four points, followed by Iceland and Portugal on two points each. Austria have one point.
