UEFA's disciplinary panel fined Croatian Football Federation 77 thousand pounds (USD 113 thousand; 100 thousand euros) on Monday (20th June) following last week's crowd trouble during a 2-2 draw between Croatia and Czech Republic.

SOUNDBITE: (English) Pedro Pinto, UEFA spokesperson:

"The independent UEFA Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body (CEDB) met on Monday afternoon (20th June) in Paris to deal with the disciplinary proceedings opened against the Croatian Football Federation (HNS) following the incidents which occurred at the Czech Republic v Croatia match on 18th of June in Saint-Etienne. The Croatian Football Federation had been charged with crowd disturbances, use of fireworks, throwing of missiles and racist behaviour and the Control Ethics and Disciplinary Body decided to impose the following sanctions: A fine of €100,000 and to prohibit the Croatian Football Federation from selling tickets to certain fans - and these are fans identified by the Croatian Football Federation and the Croatian authorities as hooligans - for the remainder of UEFA EURO 2016. This sanction is deferred under a probationary period until the end of the tournament. The decisions of the UEFA Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body are open to appeal. UEFA will not be commenting on this decision as this body is independent."
