UEFA's Chief of Press Pedro Pinto faced the media in Paris on Tuesday (14th June) after UEFA's disciplinary body said Russia will be disqualified from the European Championship if there is more fan violence inside stadiums in France.

SOUNDBITE: (English) Pedro Pinto, UEFA spokesman:

"These charges relate to crowd disturbances, use of fireworks and racist behaviour. They have been brought up against the Russian football union. The UEFA control ethics and disciplinary body decided on the following sanctions: A fine of 150,000 Euros and the suspended disqualification of the Russian national team from UEFA Euro 2016 for the crowd disturbances. In accordance to article 20 of the UEFA disciplinary regulations, this disqualification is suspended until the end of the tournament. Suspension will be lifted if incidents of a similar nature, crowd disturbances, happen inside the stadium at any of the remaining matches of the Russian team during the tournament."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Pedro Pinto, UEFA spokesman:

"I can tell you there has been correspondence between UEFA and the English FA. Regarding the latest letter received by UEFA from the Chairman of the FA, Greg Dyke, we have replied to him. I won't reveal the content of that letter. What I will say is that we have reaffirmed our desire to work directly with the security forces, with the police forces here in France to make sure the security and safety of all participants is of the upmost priority. We will be applying increased protective measures regarding stewarding and policing upcoming matches to make sure all matches occur without any major issues."
