Switzerland resumed training on Sunday (12th June), the day after defeating Albania 1-0 in their opening Group A match at Euro 2016.

SOUNDBITE: (German) Fabian Schaer, Switzerland defender:

"The goal was a set-piece. I think we scored many goals with set-pieces in the qualifying as well. And this shows again and again how important situations like these are. It was a great ball from Shaq (Xherdan Shaqiri), and I managed to move away from the defender. I think he also slipped a bit. And so I was relatively free and I had the chance to head the ball in."

SOUNDBITE: (German) Fabian Schaer, Switzerland defender:

"I am happy that we have managed to start well. I think there was a lot of talk and discussions about this game since the draw. I think the pressure on us was extremely high, because every single one of us was expecting a win. And that is why I am happy that we have managed to start positively here in the tournament. Of course this is a step in the right direction, and now we can completely focus on the next game."

SOUNDBITE: (German) Ricardo Rodriguez, Switzerland defender:

"We had a lot of chances against Albania and we didn’t make good use of them. And this would have been important. Now we will try to do better in the game against Romania, but it must be said that the goalkeeper of Albania played well in the game yesterday."
