Focus on Portugal

2016-06-13 01:53:00 from:SNTV

Portugal trained on Sunday (12th June) two days ahead of their Euro 2016 opener against Iceland.

SOUNDBITE: (Portuguese) Vieirinha, Portugal:

"We are anxious and working very hard this last few days to go into the first match on the right foot knowing that it won't be easy. From the matches we have seen until now, it's been very hard for the favourites to win their matches, so we have to work and be very focused from the start of the competition. Also, it is very good to have Portuguese players in the Bundesliga like Renato Sanches. I hope that in the future nore Portuguese players can play in the Bundesliga."

SOUNDBITE: (Portuguese) Vieirinha, Portugal:

"I think the big difference is the motivation and the physical condition the players are in this Euros. We all know that for the World Cup we had to play a play-off qualification match and in this Euros we did something that hasn't happened for a long time: qualifying in first place in the group. I think that the results we have had in the last matches with coach Fernando Santos have given us a different motivation, and also the physical condition of the players is different from what happened in Brazil 2014. These are the big diferences."
