Wales fans give their thoughts in Bordeaux on Saturday (June 11) after clinching a 2-1 win over Slovakia in their opening match in Euro 2016.

SOUNDBITE: (English) soccer fans (no names given):
"Excellent."
"I thought the game was even but we have just got a superstar haven't we."
"In the first half we were excellent. We dug it out in the second half, we got the result and very happy with the win. It is the first time we have been in a major competition since 1958 and this is a major thing for the Welsh nation and we are here and we are proud..(shouts indistinctly).."

SOUNDBITE: (English) soccer fans (no names given):
"Obviously Slovakia in the second half they were getting on top. Scored a goal and they could have scored another one and we dug deep and we scored that…how would you describe that goal? it was a winner but they all go in and they all count down they and thats the main thing so…"

SOUNDBITE: (English) soccer fan (no name given):
"England has got nothing on us. we have got passion, we have got heart, we have got the game. We have got it and we will take it and we love it."

SOUNDBITE: (English) soccer fans (no name given):
"Not at all, not at all. I think the atmosphere is amazing. Drinking together, we have been in town..drinking together, singing together ..singing competitions. brilliant, it has been great.

SOUNDBITE: (English) soccer fans (on fan violence in Marseille)
"I think the press they do more than say that. The England fans are not always causing the trouble. they are getting set upon and it is all orchestrated but the press go out there and make it something - even though England are not our best friends but the next game they could be because they could do a draw and both go through."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Bordeaux resident (no name given):
"It is a very good thing because Wales people are very cool and they make ambience and so it is cool."
