Daniel Sturridge and Kyle Walker are confident England can get off to a winning start after coming through their first training session in France on Tuesday ahead of the start of Euro 2016.

The England squad trained at their Euro 2016 base in Chantilly for the first time on Tuesday.

Roy Hodgson's men were welcomed to the sports complex by children who sang the English national anthem 'God Save the Queen'.

Locals watched on as the likes of Wayne Rooney, Harry Kane and the rest of the squad practised ahead of their opening Group B game against Russia this Saturday.

England are in fine form having won all 10 of their qualifiers and their three most recent friendly matches.

They have never won the opening game of a European Championship finals but Daniel Sturridge and Kyle Walker are confident this England squad can change that.

SOUNDBITE: (English) Daniel Sturridge, England forward (asked about England's attacking options):

"Of course, I think we have goals in the team. We have a lot of players, not just in attack but also in midfield who add a lot to the team. We have great defensive attributes also as well as the full backs who are attacking. We have a lot of strength in the squad and we're looking forward to it all gelling together and hopefully going out there and having some success."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Kyle Walker, England defender (on England's first game v Russia):

"I've heard before that England have never won an opening game. It's always important to get off to a good start and a fast start. Hopefully we can do that against Russia but if not then we need to put it right in the other games. We can't put too much pressure on ourselves. We just need to go out there and play the game that the gaffer (manager) wants us to play. Hopefully that will get us the results that we need."

Following the Russia game England will then meet Wales in Lens on the 15th of June before facing Slovakia in Saint-Etienne on the 19th.
