Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo is the favourite to win the 2016 Ballon d'Or, according to Neymar, who chose him over Barcelona teammate Lionel Messi to win one of football's most coveted awards.
Neymar was sincere in his praise for the Euro 2016 winner and believes that winning both the Champions League and European Championship will be key in tilting the balance in his favour, something that not even his Argentinian teammate can overcome.
"Winning trophies is important when in consideration for this prize, and Cristiano Ronaldo has won two of the biggest," Neymar said. "He's close to winning it- Ronaldo is a great player and I mean that when I say it."
