SNUB: Roy Hodgson is set to overlook Marcus Rashford for Euro 2016

The Manchester United sensation is the talk of English football after bursting onto the scene with six goals in his first 11 games.

Teenage terror Rashford underlined his huge potential with another stunning strike on Wednesday night to help sink West Ham in the FA Cup.

The 18-year-old has made such an impact that he is being tipped for a call-up to Roy Hodgson’s England squad for Euro 2016 this summer.

But Starsport understands Hodgson will not consider taking him to France and will ignore the growing clamour for him to pick the youngster.

Hodgson has watched Rashford in action this season and has been aware of his talents for a while.

But he believes he is still too inexperienced and reckons talk of taking someone to a major tournament who hasn’t even won an under-21 cap is ridiculous.

Rashford has represented England at under-16 and under-18 levels and has made just one appearance for the under-20s.

Michael Owen was 18 when he went to the 1998 World Cup, while Theo Walcott was just 17 when he made Sven Goran Eriksson’s squad for Germany 2006 - despite having made just 13 appearances fro Arsenal.

But Hodgson is spoiled for choice when it comes to strikers ahead of naming his squad on May 12.

Captain Wayne Rooney remains certain to travel, along with Harry Kane, Jamie Vardy and Daniel Sturridge, while Hodgson also has Danny Welbeck and Walcott at his disposal.

But Rashford’s United team-mate Michael Carrick reckons the hot-shot is the real deal and said: “I don’t think he’s a flash in the pan. I think he’s here to stay.”

Meanwhile, Jose Mourinho is not interested in taking over at Paris St-Germain if Laurent Blanc gets the sack, and still expects to replace Louis van Gaal at United in the summer.
